Shorts and Snow

Apparently spring has hit our household.  The boys have been beside themselves waiting for the weather to warm up a little and for the snow to disappear so that they could resume bike-riding...at least on the driveway.  Pretty much every morning for the past week or so, they have raced downstairs first thing in the morning to throw open the front door and discuss how much snow had disappeared since the day before.  They've been shovelling snow off of the driveway for days already and chipping at ice remnants with dogged resolve.

Today, after coming home from gym class on yet another unseasonably 'warm' weather day, all three kids (the boys still in shorts from their gym class) immediately grabbed shovels and decided that this would be the afternoon when the last bits of snow and ice would be cleared from the driveway.  Ohhh, how they wanted to get their bikes out!

Poised and ready for the first jaunt of the season...and let me tell you...excitement levels were high!!

Lizzie riding the bike that Seth used last year...and now she fits it perfectly...so she's now officially on a two-wheeler (with training wheels).

Seth's now using Matthew's bike from last year...and he, too, fits it well.  Amazing the growth!  And on his face is his usual intensely focused look.  He was so happy to be outside and back on his bike...you could almost feel the positive vibes rolling off of him.

Of course, all three kids got their scooters out too.

The boys particularly had fun on the swings in the backyard.

Love the face!
