Lizzie has been wanting to start reading over the past while so she and I have started working on reading lessons. Just now, while cuddling in bed with me, she sounded out and read the following words!!!

You have no idea how incredible it feels to have a kid who wants to read, who is dying to read. It's an absolutely amazing (and new!) thing for me!!
Oh, and after she read those words, and after we gave each other high fives, she looked me in the eye and said, with absolute confidence, "and Mommy, it just makes sense that I can read now...I'm a genius!"
