Chess Club

It's kinda geeky, but Matthew's loving chess and I can't help but think that it's good for his brain.  These are a few photos of Matthew starting a game at his first homeschool chess club meeting in mid November.  I love the looks Seth and Lizzie are giving him in the second picture as they watch to see what one of his first moves will be...they were cheering him on!

At any given time, there were seven or eight chess games being played in the games room at the big downtown library...it was really awesome to see!  And for part of the time he was playing, the younger kids and I got to go downstairs to the kids' book area and check out a bunch of books and audio books.  It was a win-win for everyone.

He can hardly wait to go back for the next chess club meeting on Monday!
