Waaay too long. Sorry.

Just wanted to say sorry - I just looked at my post from earlier today and realized that it is ridiculously long given the content; I should either have deleted a chunk of it, and/or put the whole bit about Matthew's 'come to Jesus' moment in a different post.  I'm just too long-winded.  Oops.
