Ok, so the last number of hours have not been the greatest...and I don't know which is the worst:
- I learned from Imagine that (at least) one family who was in court in Ethiopia today, with the same document/date/statutory declaration issue that we have, did not pass court. This makes the likelihood of our passing next Friday fairly remote. Sigh.
- About forty-five minutes ago, just as I was about to collapse into bed at a way-too-late 12:30am, I heard a strange but oh-too-familiar sound coming from Matthew's bedroom. Sure enough, by the time I arrived in his room, there was delightfully-red-coloured vomit all over his bed sheets, pillow and blanket. It smelled something fierce. Oh please, oh please, don't be the stomach flu...just be a little upset tummy from a not-so-healthy, Costco-hot-dog-and-frutopia dinner (I know, I know - I should have cooked at home, ok?!) tonight. Please. 'Cause if it's more than a little tummy upset, you know what I'm going to be doing on route to London and Addis in a couple of days. Yeah, that's going to be fun. Sigh.
- I feel the beginnings of a zit on my chin. One of those glacier-like, thus-far-hidden-mostly-under-the-surface ones that's bound to make an ugly appearance just in time for court. I don't get acne very often (one of the benefits of hormonal changes during pregnancy); in fact, I can't even remember the last time one 'popped' up...and it chooses now to make an appearance? You've got to be kidding me. Before I can finally sink into my bed, I need to dig up my tea tree oil, in the (faint) hope that a generous application of it to my chin will prevent the dreaded just-in-time-for-court facial pepperoni. Otherwise, the angry lump on my face will just have to coordinate with the red corduroy jacket that I'll be wearing to court. Sigh.
oh ruth...praying. for everything. even the zit! because honestly, it's just one more thing!! praying tha tmatthew is super healthy when you go and that you will be too! praying for a miracle in court. love darc
ReplyDeleteStock up on the gravol - both child & adult. You'll be glad you did! (Costco has the best prices on that item by far!)
ReplyDeleteI hope things are going better!!
ReplyDeleteAspirin works wonders on zits... the acetylcylic acid cuts down swelling and inflammation... what's easiest is to grind up a tablet with a little water to make a paste and smear it all over the "uh oh, this is going to be a big one" spot... and leave it on (best done before bed), wash off in the morning. It's worth a shot...
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all upcoming events, wishing you all the best overseas!
