Highlights from Christmas in Los Angeles - Part 3

We enjoyed one day at Disney.  I had a great time there, as did the kids, though this was not one of Geoff's better days.  With record number of tickets sold (70,000), the crowds were huge and thick at times.  Though that being said, we didn't wait longer than 20-30 minutes for any one ride, which was a relief.  We enjoyed quite a few rides, ate a picnic lunch that we'd brought from the house that morning, and ate at a restaurant for supper.  And of course, the kids loved it: they loved the rides; they loved the Christmas decorations; their eyes were big as saucers staring at everything.  For four of the five of us, it was a really fun day.  Here are a few highlights.

Of course, the castle!

I know that it's tacky, etc, but my favourite ride at Disney has always been It's a Small World.  Can't you hear the tune in your head even now, just thinking about it??  Here's Geoff out front.

My sister (with a full mouth!) with Matthew and my niece, waiting for It's a Small World.

Lizzie's look of wonder. I could have taken a hundred of these pictures...everything was so new and exciting for the kids.

Seth, having a great time.

My sister sat with Lizzie on the Buzz Lightyear ride and had her shooting things, too!

Between shooting things on the Buzz Lightyear ride, and feeling out the toy guns and rifles in the gift shop, do my children not know of their peace-loving, Anabaptist roots??!  Clearly, we need to spend more time on this in our h/school classroom!

Even the ol' Jungle Boat Cruise ride could provoke faces filled with wonder.

The crowds were truly amazing...and intense.  By the time the evening parades began, it was actually difficult to get through the crowds.

All in all, despite the crowds, the kids had a great time at Disney and I would go back with them in a heartbeat!
