Lizzie's Thoughts on Being a Stay-At-Home Mom

I asked Lizzie over dinner last night what she might like to do when she's a grown-up.  She immediately answered that she would like to have babies (preferably adopted) and be a stay-at-home mom with them.  I was a little surprised, but the thought of her wanting to do something like her mama had me glowing just a little on the inside.

The glow wore off quickly, though, when I asked her what made her want to be a SAHM.

She crossed her arms across her chest and leaned back in her chair with a deep and longing sigh:

"Because then I can just relax and do nothing...and I can sit around watching tv with my kids...or I could get my kids to clean everything up."

Sigh.  Clearly I have some more educating to do!

  1. Out of the mouths of babes!
Or, you could interpret what Lizzie said as her seeing her stay at home mom as being relaxed in her role and at peace with what she does. Even the part about telling others to do everything could be delegating as the "head of a small corporation". Whatever the interpretation, she's still cute!

    1. Yeah...no...she wasn't talking about it as if relaxed in her role, but thanks for trying! It was pretty hilarious...Geoff and I both burst out in a huge guffaw and she wondered what was going on. But yeah, it was pretty darn adorable...and I guess I make the job look easy...I'll choose to take it as a compliment!

    2. Hey. I tried. Someone had to defend the poor girl. ;-)

Oh, and I did notice that you changed the kids' pictures to the nice summery ones.
