Annual Visit to a Maple Syrup Farm

A couple of weeks ago, the kids and I indulged in our annual visit to a Maple Syrup Farm, along with good friends and a bunch of other h/schoolers.  This was the second time Seth and Lizzie have been able to go, and they loved it again...and this year they could understand a little more about what was going on.

The farm has about five pit stops for each group to visit - the first is my favourite stop:  The man who teaches the kids about voyageurs and about how aboriginal groups first made maple syrup also plays various instruments, including a tiny mouth organ that was no bigger than his thumb nail!  He's been here for the past four or five years that we've been going and he's always a highlight.

And of course, what would a trip to a Maple Syrup farm be without a sampling of the yummy syrup itself!
