We're Home!

We were greeted by friends and family at the airport tonight (thank you so much to all of you who came - it was amazing!!), made it to the house by about 11:30pm, gave the kids the grand tour of the kitchen and bedrooms, had a snack, and finally made it upstairs to get ready for bed.  Lizzie Senait had a hard time falling asleep (and why not - soooo much new stuff going on), but she's gone now.  It's 2:30am and I'm falling over from exhaustion.  More later...here are a few pictures to tide you over!

  1. My daughter just asked me why I'm crying and it's because I'm looking at pictures of your family finally all together. So happy for you, Ruth!

  2. Hi Ruth and Family! Welcome home! Ruth, I hope you continue to have time to post on your blog. I have really enjoyed following your journey. I have a 12 year old daughter that is also anxious to meet her sibling one day..therefore...the photo of the three sweeties just before bed was particularly touching for me. Love lots! Loved seeing your pictures, especially the one of Matthew running with his brother and sister. I'll be thinking of you all often, and praying that the transition goes smoothly. Congratulations on finally, finally having your family of 5 home at last.

  8. Ahhh. You're all together. And what a beautiful family you have. And as filled with joy I am for you, I ache for them and the changes and grieving and healing that they are in the midst of. What a journey this has been and now, the real journey together starts. God is big and I look forward to seeing how he molds your family. These smiles will continue to grow bigger, and as the English understanding grows, the fun gets even crazier! :-)
Blessings and prayers to you and yours!

  19. Hello!
I frequent your blog, and know that you care deeply about kids in Africa.

You may or may not know that I’m the president of Vulnerable Children Society, a Canadian non-profit that works with Ethiopians to sponsor children in four different communities in Ethiopia. We have many children waiting to be sponsored, and were wondering if you, as a member of the adoption blogging community, would PLEASE POST OUR SPONSORSHIP VIDEO AND A LINK TO OUR WEBSITE ON YOUR BLOG. We would really appreciate it!! as we need your help to extend our reach and find sponsors for waiting children.

Here is the youtube video: http://youtu.be/URFzXVGjBEg

And here is a blurb about what we do. Thanks so much for your support!!! We really appreciate it!
    _____

Vulnerable Children Society is a Canadian non-profit organization that helps children in Ethiopia to survive and thrive. With their partner, Faya Orphanage, Vulnerable Children sponsors children and families in four communities in Ethiopia, so that despite their hardships, the kids can remain in their communities while receiving medical care, food, a family home and a chance to attend school.
For only $35 a month, you can make the world of difference to a child and their family. When you work with Vulnerable Children, you know that skilled Canadian volunteers and professional Ethiopians are ensuring that your money is wisely invested in deserving children.

As the video says, ever child deserves a future. Please consider sponsoring a child.

You can see children available for sponsorship on Vulnerable Children Society’s homepage: http://vulnerablechildren.ca
